High Court Denies the Ban
Madras high court after hearing the contention of both parties denied the ban on the movie Perumal. The petitioner filed the complaint saying that a scene that depicts the fracas between a lawyer and a police officer has been telecast repeatedly on the television, which can make the ongoing condition even worse.
Though Sun Pictures countered that the prints for the movie has been sent to all distributors and putting a ban on this stage can cause sever financial loss.
Reacting to the plea, Sun pictures were ordered by the judge to put an screening for the concerned people in the case so as to assure then that there is nothing as alleged by the petitioner. Sun Pictures in reaction to this will screen the movie in a theater at Chennai today on February 27, 2009. Perumal has the direction of Vincent Selva and has Sundar C, Ragini and Namitha in the lead roles.
