Sundar. C known for giving releases in quick succession has taken enough time by his standards to deliver his next, and now is all set for it. Last release of Sundar C ‘Aayudham Seivom’ didn’t give him enough reasons to cheer about.

This time he has the direction of Vincent Selva’s in Perumal. Though the movie has been making his way for quite a long period of time, and the reasons for delay are not yet clear. Whatever it is all’s well that ends well and finally we will be seeing Perumal is this Saturday.

What to expect from a Sundar. C movie? With his time commercial entertainer tag Sunder. C has always tried to deliver something different, though not much of the variety has been seen in the movies he has done till now. Hence Perumal is also not expected to be entirely different form the others. It surely will have a little of everything form action, to romance, to sentiments to drama and comedy. Namitha seems to be a point of attraction with her sizzling song ‘Enna Seyya’, the actress is expected to bring a lot of glamour factor in the movie. And with Vivek teaming up with Sundar. C some hilarious moments are sure to occur on the screens.

Apart from this all the beautifully shot cityscape of Hyderabad and some daring action sequences in the windmill premises, are the other highlights of the movie. The usual scores of Srikanth Deva with a surprise of the yesteryear Bhagyaraj hit ‘Kadhal Vaiboghame’s remix is also a thing to watch out for in Perumal.

The movie is expected to repeat the success story of Sunder. C’s films in the recent past. Though the movie will get a tough fight from Naan Kadavul, and hence the road to success doesn’t seems smooth for Perumal, and Sundar. C’s hold among audiences surely will be tested this time.

Not many people have the strength to craft their own scripts without caring about what the other have to say about them. Director Bala certainly is one of them. With a long run of 3 years for the making of Naan Kadavul, with lots of controversies surrounding his project, a change of hero in the film, and considering 3 or more heroines for the same were the things which obstructed Bala’s way to completing Naan Kadavul.

Beating all the odds Naan Kadavul is ready to hit the screens. The title might sound a familiar one as heard somewhere in the year 2005, associated with Ajith. But at the time it got confirmed that Arya would be doing the role it was 2006. Starting the shoot in the earnest was a humungous task. By the time 2007-2008 the hopes of people for the completion of Naan Kadavul completely died, many of the people doubted that whether the film will veer be completed or not.

Finally it is ready to rock and soon will hit the theaters. Keep you expectation out of the theaters when you enter, as Bala has portrayed every genre that we have in our Tamil industry. From a regular entertainer to an offbeat venture grounded in reality, Bala has given us all. At least from the trailers it becomes clear that the movie is not an ordinary one. Sources from the movie world says that the movie is based on the lives of people who have been disconnected from the normal human society, and is about the exploration of the mysterious and mystic existence sanyasis in untouched parts of India including cannibals. Pooja will be playing the role of one who is seen begging on the streets for their living. Naan Kadavul will introduce the seldom-talked about dark and dingy side of our society.

A lot can be talked about such ventures but the trailers for the movie makes one should suffice. The movie develops a firm viewing and many of times one can feel uneasy about it. Its hard to predict what the movie will bring on the screens, specially with the dialogues in which a sanyasi says to Arya ‘Tu manushya nahin hain’. The movie surely has adopted the uncharted terrain and Bala surly has came up with yet another Bala’s brilliance. The real life sanyasis bringing the raw reality to the movie, alongwith haunting scores by the maestro Ilayaraja and the intense performance of Arya and Pooja, gives enough reasons to the audiences to walk towards the theater when Naan Kadavul hits the cinema halls.

Naan Kadavul surely will define the word ‘difference’. The conviction and confidence of Bala is sure to get appreciation.

Kadhalna Summa Illa, from the title it becomes clear that the movie will be along the love lines, as the title. Though the movie is about love and friendship, and what enters our lives first. With the starcast of two male leads played by Sarvanand from Telugu film industry and Ravikrishna and one leading lady played by Kamalinee Mukherjee, the film gives the feel of a love triangle, but it cant be said certainly.

The movie is the remake of Telugu hit ‘Gamyam’ of 2008 which also Kamalinee and Sarvanand in female and male lead respectively, though there have been few changes in the script to suit the Tamil audiences. Ravikrishna here has replaced Naresh, the other actor in the Telugu original.

Ilankannan, earlier known for action-suspense flicks like Arjun’s Ottran has directed the movie. The movie also has features M.S. Bhaskar, Nasser, Chitti Babu and Ilavarasu, alongside the leading three. Tejashree’s item song is the added attraction of this remake. Tejashree seems to be a kind of lucky charm for the director Ilankannan, as he introduced her in the sizzling number ‘Chinna veeda…’ in the movie Ottran.

Speaking technically about the movie, it has actors who have worked under the experienced hands in Tamil cinema. Vincent, the former assistant of P.C. Sreeram has handled the camera for the movie, whereas Chellam, former Peter Hayne assistant has done the stunt choreography in it. The highlight for the movie remains the music rendered by three composers namely Mani Sharma, E.S. Murthy and Vidyasagar. The three composers shares the credit for the music which is already creating raves among the audiences, but the further success of the music depends a lot on the way the songs have been shot by Ilankannan.

Kadhalna Summa Illa brings Kamalinee Mukherjee for the audiences after her little yet memorable cameo in Vattaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The actress reportedly has done exceedingly well in the movie and the one song for which she learnt Russian ballet is sure to get noticed by the audiences. Ravikrishna too has improved his dialogue delivery and body language by working hard on it. For Sarvanand his debut film surely will be under the scanner of audiences.

The theme of Love and friendship comes every Friday at the box office and it’s the little freshness that they brings with them makes them successful and lets the subject fresh for ever. This probably is the reason why Kadhalna Summa Illa has got its chances, but it will all depend on the director Ilankannan’s view towards it.

Sports based movies are rarely made in the industry, but the immense success of Chennai 28 has changed this fact in recent past. The number of movies, which used sports to take the story forward, can be counted easily in Kollywood and Bollywood. And those, which have been made, have been cricket oriented only. Though there was a deviation with Ghilli in 2004, which was based on Kabadi. Now after five years of release of Ghilli, another Kabadi oriented movie is ready to hit the silver screens.

The title ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ is an indication of story revolving around Kabadi, and the trailers and posters gives an indication of rural setting for the movie. Though the popularity of Kabadi in rural Tamil Nadu is still under scanner. But what is clear to us is the worst condition of game due to lack of funds and management in professional manner in every part of India. Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu highlights the poor condition of the sport in a rural setting.

The movie ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ introduces a lot of fresh faces into Tamil industry and if it gets success like “Chennai 28” it will be a great treat for the entire Kollywood. Actor Vishnu and rapid rising actress Saranya Mohan respectively will play the male and female lead in the movie. plays the female lead. Susindhran, the son of former Indian Kabadi team captain has directed the movie, where as Selvaganesh, son of Ghatam Vidhwan Vikku Vinayakram, has scored its music. Laxman Kumar rotated the camera and G.C. Anandan gave the art direction for the film. The movie has the production of Anand Chakravarthy. Lets keep our fingers crossed for this young Kabadi team.
